If you live in Florida, you’ve probably noticed that it’s a bit windy today! (On a side note, the one day I decide to wear my hair down, here comes the wind.) These gusty winds are likely due to the tropical disturbance that’s located in South Florida, marked with a yellow “x” on this NOAA/NHC image.
Fortunately, this area of low pressure has a 0 percent chance of formation due to its proximity to land. However, we may see some rain in the next few days as this system travels across the Florida peninsula.
The National Hurricane Center is also watching an area of low pressure in the northwestern Caribbean, but it also has a low chance of developing (only 30 percent over the next five days). We’ll keep you posted if any notable updates are released.
